A brief and
condensed recap on this year:
Colors!
We did a magic trick of painting both hands different colors, clapping them together, saying the magic words and PRESTO! We made a new color!
We read a book on mixing paint for different colors, sangs a color song, and learned all about primary colors making a rainbow.
Numbers!
Right at the beginning of the year, it was one of the student's birthdays. So, of course, we had a birthday party! We practiced putting the numbered flames on our birthday candles, Coloring our birthday balloons paper, and playing games and working on motor skills by catching and throwing our numbered birthday balloons. To top it all off we enjoyed tasty cupcakes. :D
FEELINGS:
Preschool-age children often need help in expressing and understanding their feelings. We devoted a day of preschool to exploring Feelings. We practiced making faces in our big mirror to show different feelings- sad, happy, mad, excited, surprised, scared, and others.
Then, because it was October, we made Jack-o-Lanterns- and practiced showing different feelings using their faces.
Feeling Silly
Feeling Sad
Feeling Mad
Feeling Surprised
And our favorite feeling of all... Happy!

We played a game of keeping our balloons Uh, Uh, UP in the air!
We also made some raining Umbrella pictures using watered down paint and straws- blowing air like the wind to spread the water all over our umbrellas.
